On my lunch break on Friday, I stopped in at Restaurant Depot (day passes are a perk of being a KCBS member) and picked up a 2-pack of bone-in pork butts. What in the world was I going to do with all this meat? Why cook it, of course! I have to have something for lunch for the next couple of weeks. But I couldn’t just use one type of rub. The theme of today’s blog entry is “love”. For starters, I love BBQ! I love that BBQ people are some of the nicest and most genuine people that I know. I love that I’ve had the opportunity to try many new sauces, rubs, and gadgets. And to continue along the theme of love, let me introduce to you Socks’ Love Rub.
With the beautiful weather that arrived here in the Carolinas last week, how could I not say no to firing up the smoker? There was a pork butt in the freezer calling my name. This was the perfect opportunity to try out Willie’s Hog Dust. Willie was gracious enough to send me bottles of his original, spicy, and sweet blend rubs. I decided to go with the original blend this time around.
