I have to say that I enjoyed Season 3 of BBQ Pitmasters far more than Season 2. I hope you all were able to watch and participate in the Unofficially Official BBQ Pitmasters Drinking Game. While I was lucky enough to attend the season finale filming in Lexington, NC, it’s still an outsider’s perspective. People really want to know this one question: “What was it like being on BBQ Pitmasters?” Luckily, I’ve found some people willing to share their story.
I’m departing a bit from the usual reviews to talk about… dinner. Yeah, dinner.
Now by no means am I a great chef or cook. I leave that in the capable hands of those such as Robyn from GrillGrrrl, Chris from NibbleMeThis, and The BBQ Grail himself. So while taking the risk of looking pale in comparison to their culinary delights, here’s what I cooked for dinner…
As you may know, there are not that many days left until Christmas!
First off, I owe a huge “Thank you” to the companies who contributed giveaways to Big Wayner’s Birthday Blowout — C-Dub’s BBQ Rub, Draper’s BBQ, Willie’s Hog Dust, Uncle Kenny’s BBQ, and Pirate Jonny’s. Second, I want to thank everyone who entered the contest and made it a huge success! There were a grand total of 266 entries!! As much as I would love to give everyone some sort of prize, I only have one bundle.
When was the last time you got a gift for someone else’s birthday? Well if you are one lucky person, you will be getting quite a BBQ package for my birthday. My Birthday Blowout BBQ Bundle is worth approximately $35 and consists of the following: Continue reading “Big Wayner’s Birthday Blowout!”

It’s really amazing how the BBQ world has really embraced Twitter. Who would’ve ever thought that we could talk so much, establish close ties, and build friendships in 140 characters or less? That continually amazes me!
I have met some really wonderful people in the world of BBQ and grilling thanks to the power of Facebook and Twitter! I know I keep saying this, but BBQ and grilling people are some of the most genuine and wonderful people to be around. Two of these people are Charles and Allegra Wilson of C-Dub’s BBQ Rub.
Here are some articles/links I highly recommend checking out:
- My good friends at C-Dubs BBQ Rub just got their new toy. Check out their first adventures with their smoker here and here.

- Don’t forget about the free giveaway of some awesome BBQ Gear by Southern Soul BBQ being brought to you by Kevin’s BBQ Joints. Details on the giveaway can be found here.
- And, oh yeah… there’s a football game on Sunday night.
On Tuesday, I was fortunate enough to receive a test sample of hot wing rub from Allegra Klett-Wilson of C-Dub’s BBQ Rub (@CDubsBBQRub on Twitter). Today, I finally had an opportunity to give this rub a test drive. I was told that this is a spicy rub, and I was certainly not disappointed.
